IDS GeoRadar, part of Hexagon, today announces that it has enhanced IQMaps, its post-processing software application for advanced GPR data analysis. The updated version includes new functionalities that improve the visualisation of radar data and extend the application fields to void detection and archaeology.

This article shows how using QGIS, GRASS GIS and R is allowed the development of a solid statistical assessment of human interaction with alluvial environments and archaeological landscape.
In Archeofoss 2020, F. Battistin, S. De Angeli, F. V. Moresi, P. K. Fayad and M. Serpetti presented an article on RESEARCH -the European project on REmote SEnsing techniques for ARCHaeology- (abstract available at: https://zenodo.org/record/4002961#.YHgzlOgzaUk). This project aims to assess the damage caused by soil erosion to the CH, in exposed and buried archaeological areas. For this purpose a specific FLOS tool was developed, to create high resolution risk maps.
Inside the project STABLE (co-funded by the European Commission, carried out in the context of the HORIZON 2020 program supervised by EU Authority - Grant Agreement No: 823966), the consortium members are working on the structural stability risk assessment of the cultural heritage.
In STABLE (STructural stABiLity risk assEssment - Grant Agreement No: 823966) one of the goals is to summarize the various methods used for the vulnerability assessment and conclude with the required parameters that need to be collected from each structure of the chosen case studies.
Archeomatica participated in the guided tours of "I Viaggi di Adriano" and had the opportunity to enjoy the virtual reality system produced by the company "Carlo Cestra Digital Productions" which, in collaboration with the brand "VRBackToThePast ", offers virtual time travels, making the visit more interactive, and certainly innovative, compared to the guided tours we are used to. The VR system, consisting of a series of panoramic videos visible through a VR headset, has been developed after years of experience in digital reconstructions and animations in the archaeological and scientific field by the Carlo Cestra company which is specialized in the creation of digital content for museums and documentaries, and is capable of creating high resolution images and videos for both normal screen projections and 360 ° panoramic views.

Heritage Middle East is planned to be a meeting point for institutions and companies which lead the museology sector around the world. It will bring fresh blood to the sector by organizing side events such as conferences etc. where leading museologists, museum designers, architects art historians, conservators and other art professionals come together. It is planned to be a destination where all artistic and cultural activities of Arabic world are planned and the future projects are discussed. It will be an international meeting point which aims to be the market for the actors of global museology sector and where they join different activities together.
It is an international project that plans to host more than 100 companies and institutions, and around 3.000 visitors.
