E' disponibile online Archeomatica 1 2025: Special Issue CHEDAR Project. Il numero in lingua inglese è dedicato al progetto: Cultural Heritage Digitization and Reconstruction (CHEDAR), coordinato dall’Università di Firenze e che riunisce una rete interdisciplinare di partner: le Università della Tuscia, di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale, Roma Tre, Sapienza, Campus Bio-Medico, il CNR–ISPC, l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara, l’ISIA di Firenze e l’Istituto Centrale per il Restauro (ICR).
Questo progetto si colloca nel panorama internazionale come un'iniziativa strategica per la digitalizzazione, la documentazione e la salvaguardia del patrimonio culturale. Di seguito un estratto dell'Editoriale:
"Archeomatica is pleased to have had the opportunity to dedicate this special issue to one of the most significant projects exemplifying Italy’s ability to apply geomatic sciences in the service of art and culture. This edition explores an initiative that looks toward the future while remaining firmly rooted in the past, offering a concrete and ambitious vision in which culture, science, and technology converge to create new ways of understanding, preserving, and experiencing cultural heritage. The CHEDAR project—Cultural Heritage Digitization And Reconstruction—stands as one of the most important Italian efforts dedicated to the digitization and safeguarding of cultural assets. Originating as a scientific legacy of Expo 2020 Dubai, the project is funded through the Legacy Expo 2020 Dubai program, part of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), supported by the European Union in response to the global pandemic. Led by the University of Florence, CHEDAR brings together an extensive network of scientific, academic, and institutional partners. Rather than limiting itself to documentation and conservation, CHEDAR seeks to regenerate cultural heritage through the use..."
